Fieldwork at the Soc Trang Province

On March 10th, 2015 members of the Rise and Fall project had a fieldwork in the Soc Trang provice for a better understanding on the causes-and-effects of the relevant phenomena of the project including groundwater uses, depression of the land surface and seawater intrusion (both in surface and groundwater) in the area.

In this fieldwork, the team had a meeting with the Department of Environment and Natural Reasources in Soc Trang and a fieldwork in (i) (river) bank esosion areas along the Hau river, (ii) mangrove forest along the cost, and (iii) intensive shrimp farming systems.
